How to make DWALL Inter-BBS
In truth there isn't really much to do to make DWALL Inter-BBS, first you need
to find someone else who want's to trade grafitti with you. Then you decide
on an extension to use for you DWALL inter-BBS packets. The extension is a
three letter code that the mail processor will look for so it can tell the
file is for you. The default is DWL, but if you join more than one group the
extensions will have to be different or DWALL will cross-connect the two
groups. Now that you've got that you go in and edit the IBBS.CFG and
ROUTE.CFG files, both are pretty basic and have instructions included in them
as well as their own documentation. Once you've edited both those files you
need to run DWALL, go to the Sysop functions and tell it you're a member of a
net, if you don't turn this on then any messages entered on your system will
never leave it and your users will complain endlessly that their grafitti
isn't getting out(you know, sort of like their netmail;) All that's left is
setting up some way for DWALL to run the inbound mail processor when you have
mail incoming or outgoing. I personally recommend a couple of lines in your
inbound netmail batch file that say:
c:
cd \DWALL
if Exist c:\<Your inbound files path>\*.DWL IBBSDWL IN OUT
IBBSDWL is DWALL's inter-bbs mail processor and it MUST be run from the DWALL
directory that you want your inbound mail to go to. It accepts only two
parameters, IN and OUT which are pretty self-explanatory. This function may
be run whenever you want to check for inbound/outbound mail and may be called
as part of maintenance or just before you run the program. It can take a few
minutes if there's a large quantity of mail so you might not want to run it
every time you run the program. Finally, IBBSDWL requires access to PKZIP
and PKUNZIP, so make sure that they are in your path statement or place them
directly in the DWALL directory. That's about it, if you have any questions
please feel free to ask, my phone number and address are in SYSOP.DOC and
REGISTER.FRM. Thanks for using DWALL and I hope you enjoy it's new dimension
of functionality.
